This question irks me! No matter what I say I feel like I’m going to be judged. Better than Ezra is my favorite band and it never fails when talking to a music snob the response I get is - “Really?” Umm yes, really! I’ve listened to every song so I think I’m more qualified to pick my favorite band than someone who may/may not have listened to every song and is not me! I do feel left out of the club when they start talking about Rapid Donkey Beaters or whatever the current obscure band favorite is at the time. Better than Ezra moves me. Standing in a throng of people who are as moved as you are when the lead singer sings, “Maybe I should drop you at your door. Or leave tonight and vanish up the shore” is like nothing else. To feel part of something bigger and yet feel as though you are the only one makes you feel infinite. When it comes to picking a favorite band nothing beats that.
So judge away music snobs. I hope you actually like the Rapid Donkey Beaters.
